Head Unit Has No Remote Wire A relatively common problem is installing an amplifier with a factory head unit or other head unit without a remote turn on wire or a burned out circuit. So the amplifier doesn’t stay on 24 hours a day you need a way to turn it on and off remotely. Hence the term “remote turn on wire”. Almost every aftermarket head unit has a remote turn on wire. Some manufacturers call it a power antenna wire. But regardless of the label all it does is output a positive 12 volts when the head unit is turned on. It should be noted that some head units have both a remote turn on wire and a power antenna wire. It’s important to use the right wire for your amplifier and other electronic equipment. In the case of both remote and antenna wires the power antenna wire will only output 12 volts when the radio is on. If you were to connect your amplifier’s remote terminal to the power antenna wire then you would only get output from the amplifier with the radio.

All you need is a normally open switch that doesn’t stay on after you push it, like a doorbell or garage door switch , about 4 to 6 feet of two strand wire light cord, speaker wire, etc and some aligator clips. On one end of your wire, hook up the switch and the other end put your alligator clips. Hook the clips to the terminals on the starter like Busdaddy said. When you push the switch button, power from the battery will be supplied to the solenoid and the engine cranks over.
Don’t disconnect anything like the instructions you linked to say. Don’t have a clue what that’s all about. One more thing, you will still need to leave the key in the on position to supply power to the coil or you will not have any spark. The remote switch only powers the solenoid and cranks the engine around. If running back and forth to turn the key on and off is a pain, you can run a jumper wire from the positive side of battery to the positive side of the coil and then don’t need to leave the key on.

I probed the remote starter and I received 12V briefly on the starter wire when it first tries to turn on. The remote starter thinks the car is running because it only tries to start it once not retrying it 3 times like it should since the car never starts. The headlights and dash lights come on but the engine doesn’t start. Check the ground while running output connection on your remote starter.
Make sure it’s connected to the right wire on the bypass module.

It’s not an “on” and “off” diagram. It simply shows the wiring for 2 different kinds of switch. The one on the left is for a toggle switch, and the one on the right is for a push-down switch. The wiring for theses switches are the exact opposite of one-another, because they work differently. The diagram the OP made at the bottom is simply him asking if that is the correct wiring for his switch.
Not knowing what kind of switch he has, I can’t answer that yet. None of this makes any sense without further clarification. The method of switch actuation IE toggle, push button, rocker is immaterial. All that’s required is to know which contacts are made and not made in each switch position. I bought a viper v one button remote start with intentions to install myself. So far I have the main harness hooked up with all connections tested with a multimeter. On the primary 9 pin harness, I have the black wire hooked to a solid ground and the white wire hooked to the running light switch.
If it is locked up in your garage and protected by a sophisticated alarm system then it will be pretty secure. However once the vehicle leaves those safe confines it becomes very vulnerable. Enclosed trailers and alarm systems offer some security but when the vehicle sits out at an event unattended or in front of a motel that is when it is at its highest risk level. An alarm system will alert you to the fact that someone is messing with it but one of the best ways to stop them from hot wiring it and driving it away is a battery disconnect system.
There are a number of manual disconnects that have a key or switch that opens or closes the circuit between the battery and starter. These work well but for a more convenient system I chose to use Painless Performances solenoid disconnect operated by a remote mounted momentary push-button switch. Pushing the button activates the solenoid closing the circuit between the battery and the starter.
